Kurrajong

Kurrajong Main Image

"Kurrajong" is an Aboriginal name for the Brachychiton Populneus tree, also known as the Kurrajong tree. Early European settlers in Canberra used the name Kurrajong Hill for the site we now know as Capital Hill, the home of Parliament House.

The electorate of Kurrajong takes in the districts of Canberra Central (the inner north and inner south), Jerrabomberra (including Hume), Kowen and Majura. Elections ACT provides a full list of Kurrajong suburbs.

I feel very lucky to call Kurrajong home. We have some of the best local art galleries in Canberra and we're surrounded by great bush walks and heritage trails. The area is brimming with award-winning coffee spots and local bars and boutiques. In Kurrajong, Canberra’s oldest buildings and rich history are complemented by modern architecture and design.

I'm proud and privileged to be a local member for the heart of Canberra.
